SoBe Girl was created in South Beach, Florida where designer Lex Gomez's journey began after creating her first hand embroidered swimsuits for her and her friends. Sporting them out at local luxury beach clubs, she received enthusiastic responses to the designs from other women, sparking conversations and connections. Feeling embraced by the South Beach community, Lex launched SoBe Girl in an effort to share that feeling of confidence and free self expression with other women. Through SoBe Girl, she is creating a customized feel experience with unique hand-beaded and embroidered bikinis, reflecting the artistic spirit of South Beach and empowering women to embrace their individuality.
Ethical Manufacturing
Designer Lex Gomez ventured to Medellin, Colombia, in search of top-tier craftsmanship for her swimwear line. In this vibrant textile capital, she discovered a group of highly skilled single mothers embroiders. Collaborating with them, they now work from home, seamlessly balancing their roles as artisans and head of household mothers. This partnership not only ensures high end, exquisite designs, but also fosters a supportive community where women empowerment flourishes. SoBe Girl’s attention to detail for each swimsuit embodies both elegance, uniqueness, and resilience.
